Oh My LUSH – Look At Her HAIR

Happy New Year! 🙂

2016!? I hope everyone has had an amazing start to the year so far, I have literally been SO BUSY and haven’t even had a minute to blog. I have been doing up my apartment, hitting the gym and I have decided to start studying Environmental Studies (eeek) and I would be lying if I said there hasn’t been the odd brunch too. Like most people I have set quite a few goals/resolutions for this year which I really want to stick too!

So, if you know me or if you follow my blog you will know that I am obsessed with environmentally friendly and cruelty free beauty products. One of my favorite brands is Lush and I was soo excited when I received a big box of products to try and review – no January blues here!

Lush sent me 7 amazing products from their hair care range, which is fab. Admittedly, most of my money spent in that shop goes on the bath bombs (and by the looks of my friends snap chats and Instagram’s I am not the only one who breaks the bank over them). I am in love with the Tea Tree Toner and have used a few face masks, but I haven’t really used the hair care products. I have always wondered if natural products can really keep your hair looking glam, considering you get so many chemicals and products to make it salon fresh and bouncy?

Another reason I am not a big hair care product person is because I only wash my hair once a week. Yes – even when I am a sweaty gym bunny. So I guess since I never wash it, it is a good time to find a product that will work when I do.

Lush sent me the following products;

Big Shampoo
Happy Happy Joy Joy Hair Conditioner
Jasmine and Henna Fluff Eaze Hair Mask
Rehab Shampoo
No Drought Dry Shampoo
Jason and the Argan Oil Shampoo
Fairly Trade Honey Shampoo

Where to start!? It was a tough choice, but I decided to use and review Jasmine and Henna Fluff Eaze, Big Shampoo and Happy Happy Joy Joy.

Fluff - Eaze Jasmine + Henna Hair Mask
Fluff – Eaze Jasmine + Henna Hair Mask

First I used the Jasmine and Henna Fluff Eaze hair mask as you apply it to dry hair. It is basically a pre-wash hair mask designed to control fluffiness and wildness – ‘for when you don’t want to look like a poodle’ according to the tub. It smells gorgeous, I love the smell of jasmine. It’s a thick, soft cream that I can smother my hair in – and surprisingly I don’t need too much to cover my locks. This is a vegan product and some of the main ingredients include extra virgin olive oil, jasmine, ylang ylang and jojoba oils. There are a few nut oils in there too, so wonder is so smooth. The red henna infusion in this mask is supposed to give you hair an extra shine and show off your natural highlights. Once it is on, I pile it up and leave it for around 20 mins.

Big Salt Shampoo

Once the Fluff Eaze has been rinsed off, I washed my hair with the shampoo. The Big Sea Salt Shampoo is another thick product, with some texture to it and again another amazing smell. It smells really fresh and citrusy – reminds me of summer. With the name ‘Big Shampoo’ this stuff is supposed to give you just that, big hair. Now, I already have a huge mane but bigger is always better so on it goes. This one is vegan too and some of the ingredients include sea salt (obviously), lemon infusion, seaweed infusion, lime juice, vanilla and orange flower absolute. Very summery. You don’t need to use to much of this shampoo as it lathers very quickly.

Happy Happy Joy Joy

Last and not least it’s time to conditioner my hair with Happy Happy Joy Joy Conditioning Hair Perfume. Just when I thought it couldn’t get any better, this stuff smells absolutely delicious. And here is why, some ingredients include both rose and orange blossom water, almond milk and jojoba and grapefruit oil. My whole bathroom smells like a flower garden. This is also a vegan product, I massage it into my hair and leave it for a few minutes before rinsing.

My hair was literally squeaky clean when dragged myself out of the shower. As I dried my hair I could instantly see how shiny it was – not just glossy but BIG. The shampoo certainly does what is says on the tub, as when I am finished drying it off, I have huge, thick bouncy hair which feels so so so soft. Oh and it also smells like a bed of roses.I was kinda disappointed I am away to go to bed and waste a nice hair doo – but it looked just as good the next morning – and my pillow smelled excellent.

I think you know where I am going with this – I would 100 % recommend trying out Lush’s hair products. I have particularly fallen in love with the Happy Happy Joy Joy Conditioning Perfume as my hair felt so silky and the smell is beautiful. Next time you are stocking up on bath bombs you have to try some of the hair stuff.

Obviously with not washing my hair a lot, I am excited to see how the No Drought Dry Shampoo works with my hair wash schedule (or lack of). So as soon as I start using it, I will let you know what I think.

There are so many reasons why you should try natural products. Everything is friendly – they are kind to animals and the planet, which we wouldn’t be here with out BTW.

The links I used in the list of products take you to Lush MENA, so if you are in the UK or anywhere else in the world just select your country from lush.co.uk or you can visit the store, but I am so not responsible for how much you spend!

Have you used any of the Lush hair products? Tell me – Happy January! J x
