Aloha and welcome to Foxes & Food 🙂 My name is Jess and I am 20 something year old Scottish vegan food/lifestyle blogger living in the sunny UAE. This blog shares my biggest passions and values and I hope we can inspire you to think making changes and show compassion not only to our planet, but all the other species we share it with.
I have been passionate about animal rights for as long as I can remember and more recently environmental conservation. I gave up meat products at the age of 17 for ethical reasons and more recently my diet has been transitioned to a plant-based diet. Human beings are the most advance species on the planet, but unfortunately it would seem that we do more harm to planet earth than we do good which makes me sad! A lot of people are surprised to hear that one of (if not the) biggest causes of greenhouse gas emissions is animal agriculture. I really do believe that everyone can help make a difference by thinking about they put on their plates, using local produce and environmental friendly products.
I develop and write my own vegan recipes, all of them are very easy to make because I hate tricky cooking – it is supposed to be fun! I also want to show people that a vegan lifestyle doesn’t have to be expensive or time-consuming. (Apart from sometimes checking labels but don’t worry I do all that for you). I also share vegan lifestyle tips and review and share my favorite cruelty free products.
I’m a pretty busy person, when I’m not blogging I love to hit the gym and I am also studying an online course in Environmental Studies long distance which takes up a lot of time. I love eating out and going on new adventures. Down time (when I get any) is a hot bath and a good book. I love anything related to wellness and right now I am the healthiest and happiest I have ever been.
In January 2017 I challenged myself to buy absolutely no new clothes for the whole year!
I am definitely a bit of a shopaholic & a self confessed clothes hoarder. Ok – make that serious shopaholic.
I’ve committed to 365 days of no new close in an attempt to raise awareness of ‘fast fashion’ & the effects that our extreme consumption have on the lives of others & the planet. I also hope to try & break the attachment that I have to material items & encourage like minded people to do the same to live a fuller & freer life by finding content in non-materialistic living.
I will also be travelling to India in March on my own, to visit a fair trade clothes factory & to find out more about the positive effects that fair trade has on the lives of those who make our clothes – stay tuned!
To find out more, watch my first YouTube video for my channel Ration The Fashion & subscribe to follow my journey & travels! If you have any questions or comments, please leave them as I will reply to everyone 🙂
I blog honestly and from my heart. I want to use this platform to stand up for what I believe in and to connect with like-minded people.
