KOSMÉ Paris

KOSMÉ Paris – A Natural, Luxury Skincare Brand – Launches in The Middle East

New vegan beauty products in the UAE? Yes please!

Ok so as you guys know I am all about finding & sharing natural, vegan beauty products & I am so excited to share KOSMÉ Paris with you.

Founded by Sophie Allouche, KOSMÉ Paris was created to harness the power of natural & organic ingredients, because lets face it – nasty toxins are just not good enough anymore. There are so many reasons why I love this brand, one of them being that they are totally committed to producing preservative, silicone & paraben free products. They are also committed to making sure that the sourcing & production of their amazing products is carried out in a sustainable way – yay!

KOSMÉ Paris use only the most beautiful ingredients – Prickly Pear seed oil, Acai Berry, Babassu Nut butter, Argan oil & Kukui nut oil are just to name a few!

Here are the products I was lucky enough to get my hands on;

  • Rose Argan Oil
  • Moisturising Scrub with Sea Salt Crystals
  • Orange Blossom Floral Water
  • Legends Elixir Anti-aging Serum for Face & Neck

I have been using these gorgeous products as part of my beauty routines for just over a week now & it is safe to say I am 100% sold. This is a high-end beauty brand for sure, every single product leaves me with that ‘fresh out the spa’ feeling – who doesn’t want that!? Here is why I am obsessed with these KOSMÉ Paris products;

Rose Argan Oil

This Argan Oil is on the top of my ‘amazing vegan beauty products’ list for a few reasons. Firstly, I am a two-birds-one-stone kind of girl, so the fact that you can use this stuff on both your hair & skin works perfectly for me. Argan oil is packed with Vitamin E, which is known for possessing anti-oxidants so strong it has been known to help with hair regrowth.

How to use it;

  • This Rose Argan Oil works as the perfect natural hair mask  – apply to dry hair & leave for at least 1/2 hour before rinsing & washing.
  • You can also use it as a body oil or even a bath oil  – why not add a drop next time you are going for a soak?

Why I love it:

  • After using as a hair mask, I was left with a luxurious, silky mane.
  • The subtle scent leaves you smelling like a bed of roses & is super relaxing in the bath – zzzzz.

Moisturizing Scrub with Sea Salt Crystals

You guys know I am obsessed with scrubs & taking my scrubbing ritual very seriously – lol. Scrubbing is great way to revitalize by getting rid of dry skin while stimulating blood circulation. This Scrub with Sea Salt Crystals is a three-in-one treatment to exfoliate, purify & nourish the epidermis. Enriched with Apricot Oil, I really haven’t smelt a beauty product quite like it. Apricot Oil contains ‘gamma linoleic acid’ (also known as GLA) which is known for maintaining moisture as well as firming & toning skin.

How to use it:

  • Apply twice a week to dry skin (I use it before my shower) with gentle massage movements. Rinse thoroughly with water.

Why I love it:

  • The sea salt crystals work perfectly to exfoliate & my skin literally glows after I use it.
  • The Apricot Oil smells divine & it really feels like you are having a spa treatment when you use it!

Orange Blossom Floral Water

Floral Water is a new one for me, there has been a lot of hype recently about floral waters so I was interested to see why exactly everyone is obsessing. A by-product of the distillation process that creates essential oils from bitter-orange blossoms, Orange Blossom Water has been used for years in beauty. It is great for toning, soothing & smoothing skin. You guys know I am a total minimalist with my skin care routine (the fewer ingredients/products the better) but this floral water is making the cut for sure.

How to use it;

  • Apply in the morning to cleanse & purify the skin in a gentle way, or at night to complete & perfect make-up removal.

Why I love it;

  • It leaves my face feeling really refreshed & smelling like I just had a facial in a fancy spa
  • It helped calm down my sunburnt face at the weekend!
  • Also helped balance general redness
  • Relaxing & soothing product to use before bed
  • Gives my skin an extra ‘once over’ after removing make up/washing my face

Legends Elixir Anti-aging Serum for Face & Neck

Ok I will admit it, I have started the whole anti-aging-products-please-don’t-let-me-get-wrinkles stuff. The past 6 months or so I’ve started to look at natural ways to fight signs of aging for my face & neck area. Living in a hot country & having so much exposure to the sun, there is a much higher chance of skin aging (tough life I know). Sun exposure is actually the biggest cause of sun damage to the face, resulting in form of wrinkles & hyper-pigmentation. Although there are a lot of vegan anti-aging products in the market, this serum is the only one I have found to be chemical free; 100% natural – preservative, paraben, mineral oil & silicone free.

How to use;

  • Apply 3 drops, morning & evening, on face & neck. Gently massage.

Why I love it;

  • The formula is based on a precious combination of Prickly Pear seeds, Acaí Berry seeds, & Rose Geranium essential oil.
  • My face glows & looks immediately revitalized as soon as I apply the serum.
  • Unlike other oil based serum, my face doesn’t look or feel greasy & my skin literally soaks up the serum.
  • It smells beautiful!

I am totally in love with this KOSMÉ Paris & recommend these products from the bottom of my heart. Packed with anti-oxidants, it is great to find another beauty brand that actually does what it says on the bottle. All of these products smell beautiful & leave you looking & feeling spa fresh.

You can buy KOSMÉ Paris products by visiting @ThePureBeautyCompany Instagram or the website (coming soon). Be sure to check out the @kosmeparis Instagram!

Also, if you fancy a bit of pampering, KOSMÉ Paris is available at luxury spas across the UAE, including The Ritz Carlton Du-bai, The Four Seasons DIFC & Imar Spa.

Have any of you guys tried KOSMÉ Paris!? Let me know! Happy pampering – Jess xx

My (vegan!) Elemis Spa Night at Zayna Spa: Grand Millennium Al Wahda Hotel

Because everyone needs a little pampering now & then right?

Recently I was lucky enough to be invited to the Zayna Spa at the Grand Millennium Hotel here in Abu Dhabi to try out some of their new Elemis treatments (yay!). With Elemis being a cruelty free brand (no animal testing), after a long week it was safe to say I was more than happy to check out the spa.

The spa itself is gorgeous, especially when you first enter, it is very peaceful & has a beautiful zen interior & feel to it. The spa rooms are absaloutly amazing, with plenty of space, nice decor & spacious showers.

Not all of the products by Elemis are vegan, so prior to my visit I contacted Elemis directly who were more than happy to supply me with a list of their non-vegan products (at bottom of the post). The staff at Zayna Spa were very knowledgeable when it came to their products & were more than happy to let me pick out the vegan products from my little list & make swaps where needed.

My pamper session began with a consultation before a (much-needed) full body massage. The consultation felt very personable & I got to customize the massage so to speak by asking the therapist to focus on particular areas. Next we moved onto a facial, which was probably my fav part of the night, purely because the Elemis products left my skin absolutely glowing. I think I am definitely going to buy the flash balm & the toner!

The vegan products used for my Elemis facial

To end my spa treatment, I had a full body scrub with the Elemis Lime Scrub which was great. After showing my skin really did feel silky smooth & I smelled very fresh & citrusy – like a relaxed little margarita – I think I might buy the scrub too – it was just so refreshing.

The VIP/Couples spa rooms have amazing big baths

Both the treatments & the service were great & I really appreciated having a knowledgeable therapist. More often than I would like, I have enquired at other spas about products & ingredients to be told ‘we don’t know’ – it can be a bit of a headache to say the least lol.

So, if you are looking for a vegan (or just a fab) spa treatment I would definitely recommend checking this place out! Happy Monday! Jess xx

Grown Alchemist

‘Regenerating beauty with superior results’

Another day, another amazing cruelty free beauty brand for you guys!

A new generation of organic skincare formulations, comprising of natural technologies that have revolutionized the traditional approach to anti-aging skincare, body and hair care, ladies (& gents), I give you the Grown Alchemist.

Grown Alchemist is fab new Australian Brand which proudly fill their products with organic ingredients & make a conscious effort with regards to sustainability & packaging.

The company fully appreciate the benefits of organic products & they explain on the website how chemical packed beauty products can actually have the opposite effect on your skin, such as contributing to the aging process. Grown Alchemist recognize that our bodies love natural stuff – & ends up rejecting a lot of chemical stuff we put onto our skin anyway (something I didn’t know!) These rejected chemicals usually ends up in fat cells or cause oxidation (the production of what we call ‘free radicals’). Long story short, this ultimately prompts an increase in wrinkles – no thanks. It’s pretty scientific stuff – you can read more about it here. Organic ingredients have a much higher anti-oxidant & vitamin level, ensuring all the ingredients used by Grown Alchemist are packed with essential nutrients – yay!

The Grown Alchemist are 100% cruelty free, no products or ingredients are tested on animals. When it comes to packaging, they use the worlds most recycled products to promote sustainability. The packaging is carefully chosen to ensure that the fresh, organic ingredients stay exactly that – organic.

This fab brand has something for everyone & when shopping online, you can search by skin concern/type for a number of product types including;

Skincare
Cleansing
Detoxing
Toning
Hydrating
Exfoliation (you get the idea)

Grown Alchemist also have a body-care & hair-care range too which I can’t wait to try as I am currently obsessed with organic hair products. & they don’t just look after us ladies, they have great stuff for your man too which is also pretty popular.

I have been using the Vanilla & Orange Peel hand cream & what I really noticed about this lotion, is how much my body loves it. My skin literally soaks the stuff up, & after using it before bed (post bath) my skin felt like silk. I really noticed a difference on areas which are usually quite dry too, like my elbows & knees. This stuff really has worked wonders on my hands, my dry cuticles/skin around my fingers have vanished after a few applications.

2

The smell is simply gorgeous. Very fresh and citrusy & unlike these chemical packed lotions, the products have a very natural smell. Instead of that sticky/overpowering fruit smell, my skin smells like fresh organic peel with gentle vanilla scents, it’s just beaut.

Active Ingredients:

GRAPE SEED, WHEATGERM AND ROSEHIP OIL RICH IN FREE RADICAL FIGHTING ANTIOXIDANTS LEAVE SKIN LOOKING SMOOTH AND RADIANT. COLD PRESSED ORANGE PEEL OIL CONTAINS POWERFUL ANTIOXIDANTS THAT LEAVE SKIN LOOKING SUPPLE AND TONED. ROSEHIP AND CAMELLIA SEED OIL NOTICEABLY IMPROVE SKIN HYDRATION WHILE ALSO HELPING REPAIR THE APPEARANCE OF SKIN DAMAGED BY OXIDATIVE STRESS NOTICEABLY INCREASING SMOOTHNESS. POLYSACCHARIDES FROM ALOE VERA HELP THE SKIN APPEAR DE-STRESSED AND SOOTHED. VANILLIN FROM VANILLA PROVIDES UPLIFTING AND CALMING AROMATIC PROPERTIES WHILE FLAVONOIDS AND OMEGA 3 AND 6 FROM SEA BUCKTHORN BERRY VISIBLY IMPROVE SKIN ELASTICITY AND SOFTNESS.

What a waste of money it seems these chemical packed brands are – no wonder Grown Alchemist have been raved about in the likes of Vogue & Marie Claire mags.

3

The website is very user-friendly & the products are great value for money considering they are organic. The starting price, for example, for this beautiful hand cream is only 15 USD/ 9 GBP (Christmas shopping anyone?) This cream will last me a long time too, as a little squeeze goes far as it is luxuriously thick.

I have lost count of the times people have asked me ‘does natural stuff actually work?’ & my answer is always ‘yes!’ Now I have all this interesting information too from the Grown Alchemist about the biology behind our skins desire for natural beauty products. This is hands down my fav hand cream & I can’t wait to try out more of their stuff –  Have a little browse & let me know if you try anything!

Rose, ginseng & chamomile balancing toner – I’m coming for you! Jess x

PS – Thank’s for all the birthday wishes!! xxx

Montagne Jeunesse Vegan Face Masks

‘Hi – my name is Jess and I am a face-mask-o-holic’

There – I said it.

Now I don’t know about you guys, but I see the face masks by Montagne Jeunesse everywhere. They popular in most beauty stores and usually the beauty section in big grocery stores too (I have found this in the UK and out here the UAE). They come in the cute little sachets but I have also seen them in the pretty big squeezy tubes now too.

They have loads of options – peel-off, mud and exfoliation masks too. My absolute fav type of face mask by this 7th Heaven brand are the Sauna ones – ahh-mazing. I can’t even describe how good they feel, after settling on your face they slowly start to heat up and my skin always feels flawless afterwards. The heating up sensation gives me goosebumps – literally lol.

My Lush Hair Products Review

Oh My LUSH – Look At Her HAIR

Happy New Year! 🙂

2016!? I hope everyone has had an amazing start to the year so far, I have literally been SO BUSY and haven’t even had a minute to blog. I have been doing up my apartment, hitting the gym and I have decided to start studying Environmental Studies (eeek) and I would be lying if I said there hasn’t been the odd brunch too. Like most people I have set quite a few goals/resolutions for this year which I really want to stick too!

So, if you know me or if you follow my blog you will know that I am obsessed with environmentally friendly and cruelty free beauty products. One of my favorite brands is Lush and I was soo excited when I received a big box of products to try and review – no January blues here!

Lush sent me 7 amazing products from their hair care range, which is fab. Admittedly, most of my money spent in that shop goes on the bath bombs (and by the looks of my friends snap chats and Instagram’s I am not the only one who breaks the bank over them). I am in love with the Tea Tree Toner and have used a few face masks, but I haven’t really used the hair care products. I have always wondered if natural products can really keep your hair looking glam, considering you get so many chemicals and products to make it salon fresh and bouncy?

Another reason I am not a big hair care product person is because I only wash my hair once a week. Yes – even when I am a sweaty gym bunny. So I guess since I never wash it, it is a good time to find a product that will work when I do.

Lush sent me the following products;

Big Shampoo
Happy Happy Joy Joy Hair Conditioner
Jasmine and Henna Fluff Eaze Hair Mask
Rehab Shampoo
No Drought Dry Shampoo
Jason and the Argan Oil Shampoo
Fairly Trade Honey Shampoo

Where to start!? It was a tough choice, but I decided to use and review Jasmine and Henna Fluff Eaze, Big Shampoo and Happy Happy Joy Joy.

Fluff - Eaze Jasmine + Henna Hair Mask

Fluff – Eaze Jasmine + Henna Hair Mask

First I used the Jasmine and Henna Fluff Eaze hair mask as you apply it to dry hair. It is basically a pre-wash hair mask designed to control fluffiness and wildness – ‘for when you don’t want to look like a poodle’ according to the tub. It smells gorgeous, I love the smell of jasmine. It’s a thick, soft cream that I can smother my hair in – and surprisingly I don’t need too much to cover my locks. This is a vegan product and some of the main ingredients include extra virgin olive oil, jasmine, ylang ylang and jojoba oils. There are a few nut oils in there too, so wonder is so smooth. The red henna infusion in this mask is supposed to give you hair an extra shine and show off your natural highlights. Once it is on, I pile it up and leave it for around 20 mins.

Big Salt Shampoo

Big Salt Shampoo

Once the Fluff Eaze has been rinsed off, I washed my hair with the shampoo. The Big Sea Salt Shampoo is another thick product, with some texture to it and again another amazing smell. It smells really fresh and citrusy – reminds me of summer. With the name ‘Big Shampoo’ this stuff is supposed to give you just that, big hair. Now, I already have a huge mane but bigger is always better so on it goes. This one is vegan too and some of the ingredients include sea salt (obviously), lemon infusion, seaweed infusion, lime juice, vanilla and orange flower absolute. Very summery. You don’t need to use to much of this shampoo as it lathers very quickly.

Happy Happy Joy Joy

Happy Happy Joy Joy

Last and not least it’s time to conditioner my hair with Happy Happy Joy Joy Conditioning Hair Perfume. Just when I thought it couldn’t get any better, this stuff smells absolutely delicious. And here is why, some ingredients include both rose and orange blossom water, almond milk and jojoba and grapefruit oil. My whole bathroom smells like a flower garden. This is also a vegan product, I massage it into my hair and leave it for a few minutes before rinsing.

My hair was literally squeaky clean when dragged myself out of the shower. As I dried my hair I could instantly see how shiny it was – not just glossy but BIG. The shampoo certainly does what is says on the tub, as when I am finished drying it off, I have huge, thick bouncy hair which feels so so so soft. Oh and it also smells like a bed of roses.I was kinda disappointed I am away to go to bed and waste a nice hair doo – but it looked just as good the next morning – and my pillow smelled excellent.

I think you know where I am going with this – I would 100 % recommend trying out Lush’s hair products. I have particularly fallen in love with the Happy Happy Joy Joy Conditioning Perfume as my hair felt so silky and the smell is beautiful. Next time you are stocking up on bath bombs you have to try some of the hair stuff.

Obviously with not washing my hair a lot, I am excited to see how the No Drought Dry Shampoo works with my hair wash schedule (or lack of). So as soon as I start using it, I will let you know what I think.

There are so many reasons why you should try natural products. Everything is friendly – they are kind to animals and the planet, which we wouldn’t be here with out BTW.

The links I used in the list of products take you to Lush MENA, so if you are in the UK or anywhere else in the world just select your country from lush.co.uk or you can visit the store, but I am so not responsible for how much you spend!

Have you used any of the Lush hair products? Tell me – Happy January! J x

Detox Cleansing Ritual At The Organic Pharmacy

I LOVE THE ORGANIC PHARMACY!

I have always loved the idea of natural products, but often wondered about the production, benefits and most importantly the results. Can nature provide the same results as chemical cosmetics?

It is safe to say that there aren’t as many options in the Middle East for natural beauty products compared to the UK. So I decided to do a bit of research to try and establish if there were any companies that specialized in organic/natural beauty in my area. After a quick Google search, I was pleasantly surprised when I stumbled upon The Organic Pharmacy. The website is full of intriguing information about the brand, and it turned out there was a branch close by.

After making an enquiry, I was extremely excited when invited to visit the The Organic Pharmacy and review their Detox Cleansing Ritual.

The Organic Pharmacy was started by a woman named Margo Marrone, who worked as a pharmacist and specialized in natural medicine. As she continued her work in this field she discovered Homeopathy and then the benefits of organic products. Completely shocked by the toxins in cosmetics, in 2002 the first Organic Pharmacy store was opened in London. There are now Organic Pharmacy branches all over the world, including the Abu Dhabi branch which opened in 2013, and a branch in Dubai which opened earlier this year.

After a stressful day in the office, I couldn’t get to my appointment quick enough. I had a great feeling as soon as I arrived, the pharmacy was pristine. Beautifully modern, with shelves and shelves of fantastic looking products. Most importantly, an extremely friendly and consultant welcomed me in. She gave me an overview of the business and answered every single question I had (and I had a lot). Full of passion about the products, it was so refreshing to meet someone who clearly loved her job and believed in the brand. She explained how much she had learned since working at The Organic Pharmacy and has implemented a lot of her training into her lifestyle which I thought was great.

With so many products available, so many questions came to my mind.

What is homeopathy?

Homeopathy is at the heart of what we do. Margo’s love affair with homeopathy began over 20 years ago when she first discovered homeopathy and its benefits. Today we incorporate homeopathy, herbal medicine and nutrients at the heart of everything that we do and believe that this holistic approach is the safest and fastest way to restore health and wellbeing.

What is the Carrot Butter Cleanser?
Our ultimate bestselling cleanser effortlessly removes grime, dirt, pollution and makeup (including eye make-up) in one east step. Infused with Rosemary, Carrot and Shea Butter the skin is left comfortable, clean and incredibly soft.

Carrot butter cleanser

Carrot butter cleanser

Who can use it?
All skin types, particularly oily skin as Carrot Butter Cleanser balances the oil production of the skin.

What does it do?
Oil is the best medium to remove oil while balancing and maintaining the moisture levels of the skin. In Carrot Butter Cleanser Lavender Oil, Rosemary Oil, Wheatgerm Oil and Sunflower Oil work together to dissolve grease, grime, dirt, pollution and makeup. The skin is fully cleansed of the daily buildup of impurities and left feeling incredibly soft, smooth and radiant.

What is the most common ingredient throughout your products and why?

Rose. For over 5000 years Persia has been home to the exquisite Damask Rose. Our unique organic extract is grown at an altitude of 2000 ft in the central region in Iran. The farm co-operatives involve the entire village, men, women and children, who come together in May during the Rose harvest to pick the delicate flowers at dawn where the moisture is at its highest. The flowers are then distilled in copper stills using pure mountain stream water. The result is an exceptional highly potent extract with an exquisite fragrance and high antioxidant activity. It takes 40,000 kg of rose petals to make 1 kg of Rose oil, making rose oil more expensive than gold. Not only does the Rose crop support the village but it also supports 2 local orphanages. Apart from its exquisite scent, rose has many medicinal and cosmetic uses.

Are all your products Vegan?
Most of our products are Vegan friendly. (The Organic Pharmacy provided me with a list of these Vegan products and there are certainly a lot to pick from)

After an introduction to the brand, it was time for my Detox Cleansing Ritual to begin. The consultant explains that the purpose of this treatment is to regulate fat metabolism in the body.

‘An intense full body scrub with stimulating and detoxifying blend of salt, seaweed and lemon. A potent wrap of seaweed and eucalyptus with rare fossil mud, leaving the skin deeply enveloped, cleansed and simulated’

The consultant guides me into one of their treatment rooms and as I lie on my back, I inhale the Rose and Jasmine Body Oil before a quick massage start the treatment. After smelling this product, I can understand why rose is the most common ingredient. The oil smells beautiful and is very relaxing.

Now the ritual really begins. I am scrubbed from head to toe with the Lemon Seaweed Eucalyptus Body Scrub. Pleasantly surprised at how nice this feels on my skin, it is clear the grains are much finer than most scrubs, as the consultant gently exfoliates my body to get banish dead skin. A refreshing lemon smell fills the room and once I am completely scrubbed, I take a shower. As I wipe the scrub off my body, I cannot believe how soft my skins feels already, I don’t think it has ever felt so smooth!

Seaweed lemon & eucalyptus body scrub

Next it’s the Deep Cleansing with the Fossil Mud, and I think this may just be my favorite part. When applied to my body, the Fossil Mud gives me a hot, relaxing sensation as it skins into my skin. I am quickly wrapped up in film before covered with towels, as the warming sensation doesn’t last. A refreshing feeling comes over my body as the cooling sensations from the Eucalyptus kicks in.

The Fossil Mud stays on for 20 minutes. What better time for a skin consolation and a facial? My face is cleaned with the popular Carrot Butter Cleanser… no wonder it is a best seller! It melts into my skin as the consultant applies it to my face before removing all the dirt with their Organic Muslin Cloth. With the word ‘butter’ in the title, I have to admit I was slightly concerned. The humidity in the Middle East can make my skin quite oily, however it is explained to me that you fight oil with oil! My face feels so clean and fresh, definitely not greasy. A variety of skin care products are used on my face including the Herbal Toner, Flower Petal Mask and Anti-Oxidant Face Gel. The consultant lets me smell each product before she continues to apply Marine Collagen Complex and then finishes skin care routine with the Double Rose Rejuvenating Face Cream.

Once the 20 minutes are up and I am showered again, it’s time for some more relaxation with a Detox Body Oil massage. Focusing on my knots and tension, it’s clear she is an expert and knows exactly which areas she needs to target. Another great product, the Oil fills the room with a beautiful smell as I unwind and almost fall asleep. The massage includes my head and face and she works on my pressure points and explains how this can clear glands and relieve sinuses.

Last and certainly not least, the Body Sculpting Gel is applied to end the treatment. Unlike most gels, this is a light re-sculpting gel which smooths my skin while reducing the size of fat cells and improves my circulation.

After what feels like a lifetime of nonstop pampering and relaxation, the treatment is finished and I am advised to relax and take some time before getting up. I feel brand new, from tip to toe I am completely refreshed and rejuvenated. My skin feels fantastic and smells lovely, as I leave the treatment room I am given an ice cold glass of lemon infused water.

I am so thrilled to find this brand, and I can’t wait to start using everything. With such a wide range of products, there is something for everyone. Along with the global branches, The Organic Pharmacy also sell their products online and can distribute globally with worldwide shipping.

It is hard to summarize the reasons why I have fallen in love with The Organic Pharmacy, but here are my top 6;

• The products are 100% natural and organic
• No animal testing is carried out
• The service is fantastic
• The company is environmentally friendly
• Every single product smells beautiful
• The products work!

If you have liked what you have read so far and have a branch close by, why not pop in for a skin consultation try the products for yourself? I highly recommend the ‘Discovery/Travel Kit’. This is a great introduction to the brand, as it contains miniature versions of the products used in my facial. Buying this set is a great way to trial a selection of the bestselling skin care products, this can be purchased online too.

It turns out it’s not just me who is a massive fan. The Organic Pharmacy is loved by celebrities around the world including Beyonce, Katy Perry, and Gweneth Paltrow (and she knows her stuff). Jessica Alba has been papped a few times leaving one of the branches with bags full… jealous much!? Not just for women, The Organic Pharmacy has a range for men too which is popular with Ashton Kutcher, Ewan McGregor and John Travolta to name a few.

Along with a never ending list of products, I am really happy to discover they carry out a number of amazing sounding treatments including facials, body sculpting and even nails…I know exactly where I am going to get my manicures and pedicures from now on! They also have a make up brand too called ‘Organic Glam’ which looks fab, I will definitely try some of this and share the details with you all. Gift sets don’t look too bad either.. (hint hint).

I felt so relaxed after my Detox Cleansing Ritual, I fell asleep within minutes once my head hit the pillow. I was absolutely amazed at how perfect my skin looked the next day as I went into work confidently with out a scrap of make up.

This is such a fantastic brand for so many reasons. Natural, organic, honest – everything a good brand should be in my opinion. Click here to visit the website and have a look for yourself. If you have any questions about the treatment or my experience, please let me know and I will come back to you.

Thanks again to The Organic Pharmacy for having me, you will see me again soon!

EOS Lip Balm Review

I am In Loveee With Evolution Of Smooth Lip Balms!

Who hates chapped lips? I do! And for some reason or another I seemed to have them all the time. It may have been a combination of things living here in the UAE, the AC and the hot weather being the two main culprits. It felt like a vicious circle too, when I didn’t exfoliate them they look cracked, but when I did, most of the time they ended up looking worse and feeling sore. I tried a number of products both pharmacy prescribed and what felt like all the popular branded lip balms/sticks, unfortunately nothing seemed to help me long term.

However, all is not lost, I have finally discovered a product that actually works! I love these lip balms for a number of reasons, but most importantly my lips are now smooth and not a crack in sight.

Evolution of Smooth or EOS, you may have heard of them? I have seen a number of celebrity endorsements (the Kardashians, Nicole Scherzinger, Demi Lovato to name a few). Although I am usually apprehensive with celebrity promotions (they are paid to say it’s good right?), but I am very glad I decided to try these delicious lip balms myself.

My EOS Lip Balms

My EOS Lip Balms

I ordered a pack of 5 from a souq.com, a local online eCommerce brand similar to Ebay and Amazon. I paid 131.46 AED which worked out at around 4GBP/7USD per lip balm. You can certainly get them a cheaper in the US and the UK though, one of the cons of the expat life!

The balms are a small sphere shape which I like, very easy to open and apply quickly and fit well in a small clutch. They packaging is cute and practical too.

The pack I bought came in 5 flavors, Passion Fruit, Blue Acai, Strawberry Sorbet, Sweet Mint and Summer Fruit. Believe me when I say they are true to taste! Good enough to eat, every single balm is delicious and smells great. Once applied, your lips look naturally plump and have a lovely soft glow. It isn’t sticky either and the softness lasts for up to 4 hours. They can also work as a great base for your lip gloss or lipstick. Also, I was reading an article recently about sweet tasting lip blams and curbing cravings. Basically, some studies have shown that you can trick you mind into thinking you have eaten something sweet by simply applying a tasty lip balm… wow!

Now for my favorite part… these lip balms are 100% natural and 95% organic… yay! No nasty chemicals or harmful toxins and to be honest with you I think that is why this product actually works. The two main ingredients are shea butter and jojoba oil, both work wonders on dry skin and are full of Vitamin E. This super Vitamin has amazing moisturizing properties and works well with SPF products to help protect you skin and fight inflammation. Other great ingredients in these balms include coconut oil (if you have been following my blog or know me you will know I am obsessed with this stuff), beeswax, honeysuckle flower extract and sunflower seed oil just to name a few.

I am so happy to finally find a product which nourishes my lips, especially since I now have 5 of them! I apply the balm first thing in the morning, throughout the day at my desk and before bed. I keep one handy in my bag too and use it on the go to keep my lips nice and moisturized. I would recommend this product to anyone, EOS lip balms make my lips look and feel great.

Have you used any of the EOS products before?

Tea Tree Water Toner by Lush Review

My review of Lush’s Tea Tree Water Toner

After moving to the sunny, but incredibly humid, UAE, I found my skin had become quite oily. Even a ditching foundation didn’t seem to change anything and I felt that my face had a horrible sweaty feel to it even indoors.

Since I have been trying to ditch the chemicals and use as many natural body products as possible, I visited LUSH UAE in an attempt to find something that could help my skin. After filling my basket with a ridiculous but necessary (so I keep telling myself) number of bath bombs, I wandered over to the skin care section to have a look.

After explaining my dilemma to the sales assistant, I was advised to buy a Toner simply named Tea Tree Water which was specially designed to target oily skin.

‘Tea tree is a wonder oil for anyone with oily or spot prone skin. It has antibacterial, antiseptic and antimicrobal properties.

Where the skin needs balancing, where there are spots, gentle tea tree is just the job.’ – lush.ae

A 250g bottle cost me 90 AED (roughly 15 GBP), quite pricey so I was hoping for the best. The cost of a 100g bottle was 45 AED ( 7.71 GBP).

The ingredients are simple and natural;
• Tea tree water
• Grapefruit water
• Juniperberry water
• Limonene

After rushing around the mall, by the time I got home, my skin was in dire need of some attention, the perfect time to try out my new product. I sprayed a cotton pad a number of times before cleansing my face with the toner. Considering I was wearing no makeup, I was surprised by the amount of muck that had come off my face. It’s safe to say that this toner does a good job of giving my face an extra clean after a face wipe.

The toner felt nice on my skin too, with a refreshing tea tree smell, but nicer than a strong chemical scent.

More importantly, my skin looked great. I couldn’t believe the difference, my whole face looked fresh and I had a nice, healthy, natural glow. There was no sign of oiliness, my skin has a nice clear, matte look.

I continued to use this product up to 4 times a day. First thing, arriving home from work and before bed. I also keep it in my bag if I am out for the day, and use it on the go. Tea Tree Water is also suitable for the fridge, which gives your skin a nice cool down too.

To summarize;

Pros;
• It actually works! My skin looks great.
• Quick & easy to apply
• 100% natural ingredients, no harsh chemicals or toxins.
• Lush don’t test on animals (yay!)

Cons;
• It is quite pricey, however for me it is worth the cost
• As Tea Tree Toner is made of solely natural products, it will only last for around 3 weeks. For me, this works as I use it daily but others may not use as regularly.

I would definitely recommend the Tea Tree Water toner from Lush. My skin looks and feels amazing, and I am blemish free. Now confident with how my skin looks, I am foundation free 5 days a week and my skin can breathe.

Have you tried the Tea Tree Water? What did you think?
